Obituary of Dollie Elizabeth Mitchell

Dollie Elizabeth Mitchell “Polly”, age 82, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 25th, 2017 surrounded in love by her family. She was born on March 27, 1934, and was seen by her family as a devoted wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her devotion and sacrifices for her family were insurmountable. She was well known for her sausage gravy and biscuits, but loved to cook anything. Dollie is survived by her 11 children, Ruth Taylor, Alvie Moran, William Mitchell, Dottie Mitchell, Alvin Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Velma Slusher, Mark Mitchell, Ronald Mitchell, Keith Mitchell and Paul Mitchell. An abundance of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Connie Wolfe, James Wilson, Barbara Schliesman, Shirley Wilson, Donnie Wilson and Meyer Wilson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband William “Lewis” Mitchell, her parents and twelve siblings. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 between the hours of 6:00-8:00 PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:30 AM with burial immediately afterwards at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
