We join the Methodist Hymnist in saying:
"Now the laborer's task is o'er
Now the battle day is past
Now upon the farther shore
Lands the voyager at last.
Father, in thy gracious keeping
Leave we now thy servant sleeping."

It is still a great disbelief our auntie is now peacefully been taken away by the Lord. We remember you to be loving, energetic, lively, so kind and considerate and always present in our lives. You were family orientated and knew the importance of what staying together as a family meant through thick and thin. You never hesitated to give the little you had whether that meant emotional sacrifice or giving your belongings to others even when that meant you went without.
We pray your passing will be a reminder to all that Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. (Corinthians 14: 4-7).
We will never forget the memories we have created from going to great falls, visiting us in London, and most importantly you never forgetting to say ‘I love you’ at the end of each phone call.
You will always be in our hearts and prayers. We will miss you dearly.
From Andrea, Vanessa, Jessica

Naana, I received the news of your passing with shock, disbelief and sadness. How can this happen? How can a beautiful soul like Naana pass without warning or goodbye? It is really difficult to accept the bitter reality that my friend and sister is gone. Yes you are gone but you are not forgotten. The light you enkindled with your smile and good deeds shall continue to burn in our hearts for a very long time.
You have been a wonderful and dedicated friend to me and my family. Our friendship goes a long way back. It stood the test of time. You were a repository of knowledge and experience. You gave me good advise and I knew I could rely on you at anytime. Indeed the world has lost a great and honest woman.
Naana, your life was a life full of goodness, generosity, service and sacrifice. You were selfless and dedicated to your church, family and friends. You believed in giving and your generosity knew no bounds. You related very well and showed respect to both young and old.
Naana, like a candle, you consumed yourself to light the way for many. As I bid you farewell, I remember not how you died, but how you lived. I remember not what you gained, but what you gave to all of us. You welcomed us to your home at all times. You were very generous with your time and resources. For us, these are the elements to measure your worth. I remain grateful to God for your life of service and sacrifice. Your memory will live forever in our hearts.
Naana, as I bid you this difficult farewell, I shed tears because you are “gone”, and yet I “smile” because you ‘lived’ a good life. I know you have gone home to your maker where pain and suffering have no effect.
Rest gently
Rest peacefully
Rest in peace, my sister

Our Dearest Aunt Sophia, May Your Soul Rest In Perfect Peace!
We want to express our deepest sympathy to the entire family for the loss of our dear one. Aunt Sophia meant so much to all of us. She was our aunt, sister and friend.
We want to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU for all that she did to make life easy for others. Our baby-sitter called with an emergency, she needed to take one week off. Lord and behold, how does mom go to work? One called made life easy for all of us.
Aunt Sophia, a very caring human-being came and lived with us for a whole week. Problem SOLVED! Aunt Sophia was a problem solver. She was always looking for ways to help people in need. All you had to do was to present her with a problem, and she would find the solution; even if she didn’t have whatever you needed, she went out of her way to borrow just to make life easy for you. For all your love and care, we thank you very much. You will always be remembered.
May Soul Rest In Perfect Peace

I could not believe that Sophia has left us so soon. I remember her lovely smile and boldness to speak in public. At my son's wedding in Boston , Sophia came and gave a moving speech recollecting days when back in London she used to sometimes babysit for my son each time I visited her older sister Gloria and we had to leave the children behind in her care as Gloria and I went to the East Street Market area to shop.
I recollected those good old days and it was great to have had her around then. I recollected that day she spoke atvthe wedding and remembered that once we had Sophia in the house, we used to spend longer hours combing the East Street and the Camberwell shopping areas because we had a reliable matured baby-sitter at home.
Sophia danced so much that day we always remebered her each time I have met up with Gloria either in London or in Ghana.
Sophia, we never thought that was the last we were going to see you.
We pray that your siblings, especially Sister Gloria may find comfort in the fact that you have been called to your maker.
Nana Ama, as we affectionately called her, Rest in perfect peace.

TRIBUTE TO A DEAR FRIEND-SISTER-AUNTY--SOPHIA
"EISUBA" (a child of Jesus) as you proudly and unequivocally announced to the world on your Virginia license plate and lived your life, you are with your Father now! And we were blessed by your love, kindheartedness, compassion, and the selfless spirit you shared with us and everyone you encountered on your very short mortal journey.
We can't thank God enough for giving our family the opportunity to experience God's agape love through you.
And can't enumerate the enormous blessings you enriched our lives with, in the nine short years our life's paths traversed. Your indelible love and memory are sealed in our hearts forever--thank you friend-sister-aunty!!!
And, just as mysteriously as you came into our lives nine years ago, the good Lord called you home into His perpetual warm embrace, where cancer, pain, and the trials of life are eternally conquered!
This reality of your untimely passing is painfully surreal, but God has the final say and we look to Him to provide us guidance to endure the immense void and pain.
We also take comfort realizing that you were an Angel personified while you were with us, and now an Angel in heaven watching over us! And as we always signed off our phone and in person chats with "I love you," this assurance will sustain us through these very difficult times.
Dear friend-sister-aunty, Rest Well in God's Everlasting Love & Peace! Our LOVE for you will forever live on!!!

My condolence to the family. As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, absent from the body is present with the Lord. She is with the Lord where there is no pain or sickness. She is in the arms of her savior. Sisters and brothers may you be consoled for death has been defeated once and for all. Oh death where is thy sting? Oh grave where is thy victory! When the trumpet sounds, the dead in Christ shall rise first! Amen and hallelujah! To God be the glory.

Heaven has welcomed you with Grace as you always welcomed others. You certainly passed the test of heaven and so shall you be welcome in His Kingdom.

Sophie Adjei was my aunt-in-law. Her older sister, Gloria, was married to my late uncle. Sophia and I lived almost like siblings (brother-sister relationship as if from same mother and father). Sophia passed on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 just about 38 days to Easter when our dear Lord passed on the cross. I would like to take this time here to share a few of my thoughts about my dear "sister", Sophia. We lived about an hour drive from each other and only saw her a handful of times each year, usually at occasions like picnics, outdoorings and funerals. Whenever I had invited her to any event or function, she showed up, rain or shine. But there are many memorable things about her that were beautiful. Her physical figure was small, but her heart was very big. She had an insistence with regard to what she wants which some would call stubbornness. Yes, she was intractable and headstrong but she had a wonderful smile, a great sense of humor, and was very charming. She loved children but the irony is she did not have one of her own. She loved life and when she was diagnosed with brain cancer about 3 years ago, she fought hard and long with dignity, prayers and grace. Sophia in her dying weeks lost her mobility followed by her voice, then her ability to eat or even take in water. Never once did she seem glum or down about her illness. Her last days were tears of joy and tears of pain. She certainly suffered emotionally by all accounts that I could imagine but her spiritual life always included the prospect of hope that God was with her.
Sophia, till we meet again, God keep you in His Bosom. Goodbye.
Dr. Adade
