Obituary of Steven Michael Hockenbury

Steven Michael Hockenbury was born on February 16, 1992 in Houston, TX. He was a graduate of Broad Run High School and had an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Administration of Justice from Northern Virginia Community College.

Steven was extremely devoted to his family. He is survived by his mother (Mary) and father (Allen) and brothers, Matthew (Kelsey) and David (Aida). He has two toddler nephews, Everett and Owen who he loved dearly. In addition, Steven was blessed with his grandfather (Roy) and numerous aunts and uncles who played pivotal roles in his life as well as many, many cousins.

Steven was a kind, gentle, sweet soul who adored his dogs, Angus and Otto. He was the first person to say hello, to hold a door for someone, to send a card of congratulations or note of encouragement. He was generous with his love and never shied from being vulnerable with his affection. We who loved him best always knew how much he cherished and appreciated us.

Steven will forever be remembered by his family, extended family, friends, neighbors and medical team. A special thank you to all who touched his life and helped him during his extended illness. He treasured the goodness in others and never judged. We will always remember his ever present smile.
