Words cannot express how deeply saddened and sorry we are for your loss. Janice fought an unbelievable fight for a long time. Few people could have done what she did. Thank God she had You and your loving family to help her. As you and I talked, the joy of Will’s presence probably helped her a great deal. You are a terrific best friend. I pray that God will assist and comfort you in this difficult time. God bless you and your family.

My sincere condolences to Tim, Wendy, and Amanda. It has been my honor and privilege to be a part of the Labus family as a teacher for Liz and Wendy, as well as, a professional colleague to Janice. Janice was an excellent teacher as she helped to positively change many of the young lives she touched. Her passing is not only a huge loss to her family and friends but a loss to the Herndon community. She was my friend and I will hold her memory in my heart forever.

My deepest condolences for the passing of Janice. Although I only met her briefly I know the positive impact she brought to all of the people she interacted with, including the countless children she spent her life teaching.
The Good Lord has a plan for all of us and I'm certain Janice is at the table right now helping craft new teachings.
Love,
Bob

Though I didn't meet her personally, I can see from her beautiful smile and the way she lived her life that she was a caring and giving woman. My very heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing that she is finally free of her debilitating illness and that you were there for her, with love, in every way that she needed. She will always be with you and her memory and legacy will live on in your hearts.

Proverbs Chapter 31
A woman of valour who can find? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, and he hath no lack of gain.
She doeth him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchant-ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth food to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good; her lamp goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She maketh for herself coverlets; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
She maketh linen garments and selleth them; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strength and dignity are her clothing; and she laugheth at the time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and the law of kindness is on her tongue.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her:
"Many daughters have done valiantly, but thou excellest them all."
Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her works praise her in the gates.

I am deeply saddened to read this news, however glad at the same time that Janice can be at peace and no longer suffering. I know that she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, students and pets. I always enjoyed hearing stories of Amanda who Janice adored immensely. I am sure she has an endless supply of roast beef sandwiches from Arby's and milk shakes to enjoy. What a witty and insightful woman she was and so very smart! She was one of my very favorite people to visit during my lunch hour. While she was still here at Herndon, she was always optimistic about recovery but often worried about her family when she was away at the rehab facility. I will often fondly remember her zany humor and eclectic style. I am sure that she is with us still. I just had to relate to some of her former students this sad news and they all recall her being so funny and always saying exactly how she felt. She often related to the students how excited she was to retire and spend time with her baby great grandson. She helped students get to passing grades who were struggling. She shared many personal stories about her life. She told the students of matching tattoos that she and her daughter had gotten. The students were shocked but enjoyed sharing stories with each other.
