To my friend, Jim:
I didn't know you very long. But you were an incredibly smart, funny, kind, caring and giving man. Thank you for your kindness and for your hugs. Thank you for sharing your brother with me for a brief conversation. I loved learning that your brother was an important person to you. Thank you for being such a wonderful dad to your children. Thank you for your service in the Navy. What an amazing man you are and were.

To my friend Jim's family:
Thank you for sharing Jim with me at his home these last 4 months. I will treasure his memory like I cherish my memory of my dad. Jim gave me continued inspiration to come to work and take care of people the way I would have if they were my own parent. It is so hard to watch someone we love suffer. You all handled it with poise and grace and so much love and kindness. Jim was so loved by his family, and that's an enormous blessing. I send hugs to all of you. I am so sorry for your loss and I wish you peace.
