Obituary of Richard Anthony Calio, Sr.

Richard Anthony Calio, Sr., 79, of Potomac Falls, VA, passed away on March 22, 2017 at Reston Hospital Center. Born September 2, 1937 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Anthony Louis Calio and the late Irma Carol Sabatini. He retired from a career in federal government service to spend time with his grandchildren. He loved attending their school and sporting events. He was also a Washington Nationals season ticket holder and loved to be at the ball park. He is survived by his children Richard Anthony Calio, Jr (Mariheather Sheally), and Alicia Calio Poage (Lee Poage), and his grandchildren Richard III and Benjamin Calio and Isabella, Sofia, Nicholas, and Gianna Poage. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on March 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls, VA. He will be interred in Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation.
