Alan was a dear friend and fellow guitar playing jammer in high school. We shared many classes together and hung out after school school with the rest of the gang. I will cherish my memory of Alan, who was smart, kind and so funny. My first car, the Opal GT came from his family. We had such a blast blowing around in that miniature Corvette. His passing truly fills me with sorrow but then I imagine Alan and feel the heartache slip away. He was an amazing, wonderful friend.

I am heart broken. I just found this out from my husband who was on Facebook. Though no longer the close friend I once was with Alan and Leslie, I have remained in touch over the years always impressed with Alan's gentle demeanor, intelligence, wit, and devotion to his family. He will truly be missed. My prayers are with Leslie, her kids, and grand kids as they try to understand and accept this loss which defies all reason. May you find peace in your days, comfort in the sweet memories, and knowledge that Alan made the world a better place for us all. I send you my love, prayers, and deepest sympathy. Love, Beth

I met Alan over 30-years ago when her married my niece Leslie Jeffries. I always enjoyed discussions with Alan and especially about genealogy. He was a great family man and I know that he will missed very much by his family. I still can't believe that he has passed away because he was so young and had still a fulfilling life ahead of him. I will miss him.

Alan was one of those individuals who appeared larger than life in everything he did. As a devoted husband, a caring father, an astute businessman, a loyal boss, and a superior engineer, he exhibited a passion that was both infectious and daunting. His knowledge, wit, and ability to express his thoughts clearly were extremely valuable to the JPSS Ground Project. He left us way to soon and he will be missed.

Jeffries Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you! I am honored and blessed to have called Alan my Uncle. He was truly an amazing man who was caring, strong, and thoughtful. There are so many amazing memories of Alan, most recently his passion for researching our family history and his willingness to sit down and share what he found. I was shocked and saddened to hear about Alan's passing. My relationship with Alan goes back to his employment at ICS and the FUSE mission. He hired me as the FUSE Satellite Control Center Development Lead. Ultimately, I took over for him when he left the project. We periodically ran into each other over the years and it was always good to catch up.
