Obituary of Diane Louise Boyle

Diane L. Boyle of Herndon, VA, surrounded by her daughter and husband, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Born on February 8, 1947, Diane was the daughter of the late Francis and Marion Doyle.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Sean Casey Boyle, and her sister, Barbara M. Swain. 

Diane was a top-notch student at Nazareth grade school & high school (South Boston, MA).  She received her Associate Degree from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and subsequently worked at Tufts Medical Clinic in Boston as a X-ray technician.  She excelled at everything that she put her mind too.  During the mid-eighties, she studied for and passed the NC real estate exam.  Diane worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer for 5-6 tax seasons during the 1990s.  After being an “At Home Mom” for Erin and Sean, Diane returned to the work force for 10 years with Navy Federal Credit Union in the mortgage servicing department.  Diane loved tennis, bike riding, being active and, of course, Zumba!  From 2007 to 2015, she and her husband traveled extensively; she loved to research and plan these trips.  Diane had a zest for life, a quick wit and wonderful smile!!  Her two grandchildren called her “Nana” and she loved them dearly.

Diane is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph M. Boyle (Herndon, VA); her daughter, Erin L. Driggs, (Herndon, VA); her brother, Francis W. Doyle, Jr. (South Boston, MA); her grandchildren: Aidan C. Driggs and Alexis C. Driggs (Herndon, VA) and her brother-in-law, Norman T. Swain (Braintree, MA).  

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA.  

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon, VA 20170 with Father Thomas Bourque, T.O.R. officiating. Father Tom will be assisted by a long time, personal, family friend, Deacon Bill Donovan.  Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
