Helen Terasavage Baldwin died peacefully in her home on July 10, 2017 at the age of 84. She is survived by her son Bruce, of South Carolina; daughter Cheryl and her husband Steve Loy, of Virginia; and son Keith and his wife Sherry, of Florida; and loved by her grandchildren Keith Neal, Jessica, Brian and Morgan, and great-granddaughter Katie.

     Born on September 19, 1932 in Wilkes Barre, PA to Joseph and Nellie (Yerkonicz) Terasavage, Helen was the eighth of eleven siblings and is also survived by sisters Nellie Grabowski and Ann Mroz, both of Wilkes-Barre.

     In the early 1950’s, while attending Temple University School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA, Helen met George F. Baldwin whom she married in 1954. After a series of career-related moves, the family eventually settled in Sterling Park, VA in 1967, where Helen lived the rest of her life. Her husband preceded her in death in 1986.

      Mrs. Baldwin was a long-time employee of the Giant Food store in Dranesville, VA and an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Herndon. She was known for her helpful nature and generosity by her neighbors, and often volunteered her time at local senior centers, as well as the Second Hand Rose consignment shop and Meals-On-Wheels. She had a vibrant personality and enjoyed nature and long-distance walks with friends.
