Obituary of Walter Joseph Dumbeck

Walter Joseph Dumbeck Jr. 71 years old from Sterling, Virginia, passed away on July 29, 2017 in his home.

Walter was born in Wyandotte, Michigan to Walter Dumbeck Sr. & Elizabeth (D’Annunzio) Dumbeck on February 23, 1946.  He went to high school at St. Patrick’s School and graduated in 1964.  He proudly served in the Navy and then began his career as a photographer and progressed into the visual / media space for the federal government, branch of the Navy until he retired in 2008.  He enjoyed time with his family & friends, reading, and traveling.

Walter is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Renaud of Wyandotte, Michigan, his daughter, Dawn Dumbeck-Vezina, son-in-law, Robert Vezina & grandson, Jack Walter Vezina, of Ashburn Virginia, nephew, Henry Renaud & family.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gerri Dumbeck.

Funeral service will be held at Herndon United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gary Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.   Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
