I am hearing this for the first time in 2022. I was hoping maybe he would be at our 50th class reunion. Brad and I dated for 2 1/2 years in high school. He was my first boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend. Fond memories of a wonderful person. My heart is sad.

Brad and I worked together at Allstate in the mid 1990’s. I loved working with Brad and loved the person he was in this life. I don’t know how I missed his passing and sorry it’s taken so long to know and honor this wonderful person! I think about our time together often, and I’m so very thankful for the blessings I received from our friendship!

Was thinking of Brad and was trying to locate him (April 2019) Was saddened to hear that he passed away in 2017. He was my first love in high school and attended Bob Jones University together in Greenville SC. After his freshman year at Bob Jones he was drafted into the Army. Basic training was in Fort Polk LA. We were engaged in December 1972; however he broke the engagement after one year. Very hard to put that behind me. I pray he is with the Lord. Brad majored in music education at Bob Jones. Brad, my friend, Rest In Peace. Will be reunited again in Heaven

Sgt. Hansmann was my corps sgt in The Old Guard. My memories of him will remain with me forever. He was a singularly unique person and had my respect. Firm when needed and compassionate when warrented. I know that I am a better person for having known him. I mourn your loss and celebrate his memory. Britt Gatlln, TOG '81 - '84.

Brad (Sgt. Hansmann) was the first person I met when I auditioned for the Fife and Drum Corps in February 1976. He took me on a tour of D.C. and I had dinner with he and Rig(?).When I arrived on active duty, he was great to work with. He loved his job and was an integral part of the Fife and Drum Corps and added much to the spirit of what we were doing. He was a great guy and will be greatly missed!! I am very sorry for your loss!!

I served with Brad in The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, as fellow fifers and fellow NCOs. He was always dedicated to what was best for the good of the unit. As with any friendship, we had our ups and downs but, in the end, I liked him very much and will remember him fondly.

I knew Brad when we were in the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps together in the 1970's and 80's. He was a great friend, and mentor, too.
I tried to "track him down" several times over the years, just to catch up, but was never able to find him.
This is truly sad news, and a great loss.

I was so sorry to hear about Brad. I worked with him at Allstate in VA for eight years and he was one of my favorite folks on our team. He was always an upbeat person who wanted to know about how my family and I were doing. We spent a lot of great years together and I am a better person for getting to know him during that time. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

Beyond what he had done in his military and civilian life, he was an outstanding human being. He is, and will remain, an inspiration to my life. I can honestly say that I am a better man for having met him. I truly believe that I was privileged to be a part of his life, and honored that he was a part of mine. I will miss his tutelage; I will miss his laugh; I will miss our games; I will miss his charisma, but most of all; I will miss my friend.
Brad - the answer is, as it has never changed - without a doubt. You would be proud!
