Obituary of Roy Chand Dhanda

Roy Chand Dhanda, son of Hari Ram Dhanda and Hiran Dhanda, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009. Mr. Dhanda is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rani. In addition, Mr. Dhanda is survived by three children, Rohini, Rahul and Rohit., and four grandchildren, Sean, Aaron, Rani and Robert. He was the 7 th of 9 children, born in the Punjab Province of British India in the river side city of Lahore on October 25, 1924. He held a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Economics from Punjab University. At the time of partition of the British India to India and Pakistan, his family migrated to New Delhi. He joined the government of India, Ministry of External Affairs in 1952 and served as a diplomat in Pakistan, Sudan, Japan, Mauritius and the United States. Mr. Dhanda was also an accomplished writer authoring several articles on mythology and religion. He also published a book on the Harappan Origin of Hinduism. The Funeral Services are to be held on Thursday, May 21 at 2 PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home located at 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia 20170.
