Obituary of Suzette Rose Twigg

Suzette Rose (Genduso) Twigg

Our dear sister Sue succumbed to her cancer battle after a year and 4 months.  Born November 1, 1954 in Arlington VA.  Second daughter to Frank and Rosalie Genduso of Falls Church, VA Sue grew up in Falls Church and attended St. James Catholic School, Walnut Hill Elementary, J.G. Whittier Jr. High, and Falls Church High School.  As a young girl, she studied dance and performed in numerous ballet and tap dancing recitals.  She swam in competitions on the Woodley Swim Team in the Northern Virginia Swimming League and won numerous medals and ribbons for her proficiency in the back stroke.  She played softball in the Falls Church Girls Softball League and continued to play on the JV and Varsity Teams in High School.   After graduating High School, she lived for several years in Sunnyvale, CA.   She returned to Virginia and lived in the town of Herndon for many years.  She married 1st Sergeant David W. Twigg, U.S. Army (Retired,) of Cumberland, MD in 2000, and they resided in Sterling, VA.  She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.  Every summer, she grew a spectacular garden overflowing with vegetables.  It was a special gift.  Sue worked for the Fairfax County Public School Transportation Department for 30 years.  She was a school bus driver and Route Supervisor.  She retired from the County Government 5 years ago.  She is survived by her husband, David W. Twigg of Sterling VA, sisters Anne Genduso Spaith of Annandale VA, Terrry Genduso Mullenmaster of Wautoma WI, her brother, Frank Genduso Jr. of Melbourne Beach FL, her niece Angela Spaith, husband LtCol Tom Kibblestis, USAF, 2 grandnephews Joey & Ryan Lechowick of Tucson AZ, her niece Shannon Rose Hyatt and spouse Sarah Hyatt, her niece Jarin Anne Hyatt Weisensel, partner Lee, and grandniece Madison Teresa Weisensel.  Family will receive friends from 1-4 PM at ADAMS-GREEN Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA on Sunday, August 20, 2017.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 750 Peachtree St. in Herndon VA on Monday at 11 AM.  Additional services will be held at Ft. Myer Post Chapel 1 Ft. Myer Dr. Arlington, VA on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:45 pm.  Guests attending should enter through the Hatfield Gate off of 2nd Street South if you do not hold a military ID and arrive at the chapel by 2:15 pm. For GPS users use the address 2100 2nd Street South, Arlington, VA 22204 (From this address you can see the gate you will enter through.)  Interment Arlington National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
