Obituary of Ana Cira Parra

Ana C. Parra

Ana C. Parra, who lived in the City of Falls Church for over 40 years, passed away on the morning of August 15, 2017 at Sunrise Senior Living of Reston, Va. Ana was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on March 15, 1946 to Juan Galaraga and Maria del Pilar Escorcia where she attended Catholic school, enjoyed the Carnivals, and spent time with her many brothers, sisters, cousins and friends.

Ana came to the United States in 1966 to live with her aunt Carolina Escorcia, and soon after was married to Rafael D. Parra. She is survived by her three children Katie (Kris) Connell, Kevin (Elvia) Parra, and Jenny (Michael) Bennett; and grandchildren Caitlin Parra, Loren Parra, Drea Bennett, and Maya Bennett.

Ana fittingly practiced the art and science of cosmetology, a trade that mirrored her love of beauty and personalization, helping expose the unique characteristics of her clients and friends. A social soul, Ana embraced what life had to offer and used her keen perception and wit to shape and influence the lives of those with whom she came in contact. She loved travel, movies, and books, but most of all she treasured spending time with her grandchildren, dressing like a diva and going to great restaurants. She drank fully from the cup of life and she will be sorely missed. Her commitment to the Catholic faith will carry her into the next life.

Ana’s memorial service will be held at 10 am, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon, Virginia. Father Alberto Bueno will perform the mass.

If so inclined, please send flowers a day prior to the service to Adams-Green Funeral Home at 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20171, Attn: Ana Parra (703) 437-1764.
