Obituary of Charles Kenneth Sibon

Charles Kenneth "Ken" Sibon passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2017 in Virginia .


 

Ken was born June 18,1923.  He married Bernadette née Finucane on June 19, 1954. They lived in Pearl River, NY from 1960 to 2016 where they raised their two daughters, Therese and Diane. He was a avid parishioner of St. Aedan’s Church.


 

Ken was a member of the NYPD for over thirty years when he retired at the rank of Inspector. During WWII, he enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in the Pacific serving as a Tin Can Sailor.


 

Ken loved to work on the family house.  He added rooms, renovations and created beauty and function. He was always ready to help neighbors and friends, not only in emergency situations, but whenever they needed a hand.  When not at home, Ken and Bernadette loved to travel the world from camping on the beach to enjoying fine cuisine and wine abroad.   


 

Ken is survived by his two daughters, Therese Sibon and Diane and her husband Sebastian Romano. Grandchildren are Kathryn Reynolds, Christopher Romano; Tyler, Amelia and Neve Parker. Great-grandchildren are Charlie, Oliver, and Henry.


 

Funeral services will be held at Wyman-Fischer Funeral Home, Pearl River, NY.

Calling hours are Tuesday, September 5th from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 6th at 10 AM at St Aedan’s. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
