Obituary of John Gabriel Mate

John Gabriel Mate,74 of Sterling, Virginia, husband of Laura Lou Mate, died August 27, 2017. His Funeral mass will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon, Virginia, at 12:30pm. Final Commendation and Farewell,Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia. 
John was born August 20, 1943 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, son of the late John Mate and the late Rose Mate. He served in the United States Air Force as a Communications Engineer Specialist. He also worked as an IT Programmer at Unisys for over 30 years. In addition to his wife of 49 years, Laura, he is survived by his daughter, Heather Lynn Mate-Llamado (Karlo) of Charles Town, West Virginia, Grandchildren, Amber Nicole Mate and Austin Riley Llamado, also two sisters, Mary Ann Shearer (Bob) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Rose Marie Mohn of Saint Simon's Island, Georgia.
