Obituary of Donald Gary Royer

Donald Gary Royer, of Berryville, VA died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at his home. Don was 65 at the time of his passing.

Don was born on October 3rd, 1951, in Washington, DC.  He is predeceased by his father, William A. Royer and his nephew Jesse Royer. He is survived by his mother, Helen B. Royer, his brothers Dick Royer and David Royer (wife Lyn), his sisters Debbie Royer and Kathy Royer Zimmet (husband Jay), and his nephews Marc (wife Khemmy), Neil, Kevin, Donnie, Tommy, Scott (wife Megan), Brandon (daughter Katelynn), Eric, and Michael. 

A proud Marine, Don served in the Asian/Pacific Region and received an honorable discharge in 1976.

Don had a rough life and suffered two catastrophic motorcycle accidents and other experiences that left him weakened in both mind and body.  Despite all of this, he remained a loving son, loving brother, and a good friend to those around him.  Thankfully, he is now at peace.

A memorial service for Don will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 11:00am at the Great Falls United Methodist Church, 10100 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, VA 22066.
