Obituary of Irene Geneva Breneman

Irene "Geneva" Breneman (12/23/40-9/5/17), a 46-year resident of Reston, VA, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2017. She is survived by her devoted husband Gary Breneman, her three children Derek Breneman & wife Nanci, Vicky Bishop & husband John, and Julie Sherwood & husband Alex. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Chris Fowler & wife Lauren, Corey Fowler & girlfriend Kayla, Grayson Sherwood, Lucy Sherwood, and Lila Sherwood. In addition, she has three great-grandchildren, Kaylin Fowler, Gavin Fowler, and Presley Fowler. Geneva also had siblings and many relatives in Tennessee and Kansas (both places where she lived and loved).

Geneva was a devoted wife, loving Mom, caring grandmother, and thoughtful friend. She never met a stranger, loved playing & watching tennis, liked traveling the world, enjoyed a good party, never missed a birthday, treasured Reston (where she worked at the Homeowners Association), visiting Lake Fairfax Park, never played a slot machine she didn't like, always pointed out the butterflies, and knew where to find the best icy Diet-Coke. Her love for her family was immeasurable, her laugh could fill a room, her hugs made others feel better. We will miss her more than she'll ever know and we will treasure our memories she helped us make. Now go fly with the butterflies. We love you with all of our hearts.
