Obituary of Nedra Kay Dibeler

NEDRA KAY KNEPPER DIBELER Nedra Kay Knepper Dibeler, 62, who was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 31, 2012 after fighting aplastic anemia and complications for over 5 months. She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on May 14, 1949. Nedra was a graduate of Texas Christian University and served three years in the Navy in the Arlington Virginia area, where she met and married Vernon H. Dibeler, II. Nedra and her husband retired to Bethany Beach Delaware, after living in Vienna, Virginia for 30 years . She is survived by her husband of 37 years, daughter Colleen Scout and husband Matthew, grandchildren Emmett and Amber; son Reed Dibeler and wife Kelly Rossi; brothers Dennis Knepper and wife Susan, Scott Knepper and wife Cheryl; and father-in-law Vernon Dibeler, Sr. Nedra was a homemaker, brownie scout leader, and worked part time as a media specialist and librarian assistant in the Fairfax County school system while raising her two children. She was an avid reader and well versed in fiction and non-fiction authors and books. She was adept at cross-stitch and needlepoint, and many of her pieces hang in many homes. She was a dog lover and music lover, inspired by her parents who were both musicians. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2 pm at Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 E. Church Road, Sterling, VA 20164.
