I was devastated to hear of Pauline's illness and her passing while searching online. Pauline was like the most beautiful flower, delicate and in full bloom, gorgeous to see; her voice like music, calming and soothing. Everything about her was beautiful, including her children. Her children are gifts she leaves to the world, amazing and incredible people.
Pauline was the best friend anyone could ever have, it was an honor to call her friend and a gift and a pleasure to know her. God Bless You Kaz and Lena and your families. You mean so much to our family and to me. Your Mom was a Blessing for anyone to have in their life. A Blessing to me. .

I spent 4 years (2005 - 2009) at Forest Edge teaching alongside Pauline. She always greeted me with a smile even if her day wasn't going well. During my first or second year at "The Edge", she set up a Friday night field trip to a local park in Great Falls where people set up telescopes to look at the sky and educate those who attend. I still remember her amazement as we looked through one of the telescopes and saw the rings of Saturn for the first time. That was always our conversation from that point forward. She always said that she would like to do that again. Whenever I pass that park (and I do often), I think of Pauline and our time there together. We never made it back there, but I have a feeling that she is seeing things in a whole new light now. My thoughts are with her family in their time of remembrance and grief. Rest easy my friend and colleague. Pauline, tell Gena, Peggy, Sherry, Pat, Judy, and Carole that their legacy lives on in my art room when you see them again. I certainly miss my "Edge" family and I hope to see you all again some day. - Paul

I will always remember Ms. McAfee's smile because she shared it with me every time I saw her at Forest Edge over the past 6 years. She will be sorely missed. Wishing for peace for her family during this difficult time. Kristen, Dan and Edie Chaddock (Forest Edge family)

Kaz and Lena,
Your mom was one of the kindest women I knew. I never heard a harsh word towards or about anyone from her; rare quality, a beautiful spirit. She indeed fought the good fight. She can rest with God now; peacefully and painlessly. Know that you are on my heart and in my prayers.

To Pauline's family
I am a teacher from Scotland who did an exchange to Forest Edge in 2009 for a year. Throughout that year Pauline extended a warm welcome, a smile and a laugh when I met her in the corridors. When you are 3000 miles from home little things like that make all the difference. She was a joy to know and it was a privilege to work alongside her. Her positivity and commitment was an example to us all. Know that I am thinking of you all and sending my thoughts and prayers across the miles.

I will miss Paulines smile and powerful encouragement.
She taught us all how to play hurt.
She never let her illness change her positive way of participating in life. Pauline was a gift and I will always thank God for putting her in my life when he did.
Rest in peace my friend.
