Obituary of Rose Mary Linton

LINTON, Rose Mary of Ashburn VA died peacefully on Tuesday October 10 2017.  She was 88 years old. Rose was born in Astoria, Queens, New York and spent her years living in Lindenhurst, New York, Sun City Florida and Ashburn,  Virginia.  

Rose was a dedicated employee of Good Samaritan Hospital in Islip New York until her retirement. Rose enjoyed her quiet time and leisure activities; but most of all enjoyed the company of her children, grand children and great grandchildren.  Rose was the daughter of Edward and Molly Sharkey and beloved sister of her brothers John and Thomas Sharkey who have all pre-deceased her.  Rose was the wife of later WWII veteran Robert J. Linton and is survived by her 3 children Rosemary Harrington, John T. Linton, and Thomas E. Linton.  Grandchildren Joseph R. Gerbino, Edward C. Gerbino, Charles Gerbino, and Natalie Rose Linton, and two great grandchildren Ryan K. Gerbino and Kirra J. Gerbino. Rose was blessed with many loving friends and caregivers,including Rosa Borrero, Pedro Hernandez, Donna Linton, and Caroline Linton.

Reposing at Adams-Green Funeral Home on Friday, October 13th from 6-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 11am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA 20147 with graveside remembrance at Columbia Gardens Cemetery immediately following.
