Kathy will be surely be missed!! Her personality was infectious and she new how to make you laugh. I will miss our talks in the kitchen at work, passing by in the hallways and saying our good-bye's leaving at the end of the day. My prayers goes out to the family.

I knew Kathleen for many years both at the Herndon office and sterling. She was always a pleasure to work with and kept on smiling even when things were not so good. My condolences to her family and friends. Hopefully she is now at peace.

I am so heartsick to hear of your Mom's passing, Tom. The last we spoke was maybe a month ago to tell me of her suffering... and I was never able to get a hold of her after that. I always enjoyed our Buffalo connection as we reminisced about "home" through the years we had known each other. Throughout our friendship together the one constant thread of knowing who she was... was her complete and steadfast love she held for you. May you and your family gain some peace in the release of her worldly pain as she passed. She will be missed and remembered by many. How fortunate we all have been to know you, love you and be called friend by you. Saturday morning coffee will certainly not be the same without your laughter, insight, and our innate ability to solve all the world's problems in 45 minutes. We have been carrying on for 53 years. To Kathleen’s family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to get to know Kathleen over the last two years at BSEE. She was a welcoming presence and brought humor and levity to our workplace. We spent time together every day catching up on work, family and life. She was loyal and so very proud of her family. My heart goes out to her family; what a legacy she left behind for so many to follow. Federal government work is not for the faint of heart; it takes time, dedication, perseverance, and patience. Kathleen was a wonderful person, friend, and co-worker. She had a lightness of spirit and found something good in any situation. To the Family of Kathleen Kurek:
I am truly sorry for your loss. Kathleen was a wonderful person. I enjoyed our periodic telephone conversations together over the years. She was a great story teller, and she always had a story to tell. Kathleen was an exceptionally bright woman with a keen and deep insight into people that made her humor and wit right on target. Her absence from the agency was noticeable, and her passing away is heartbreaking. God Bless all of you as you make adjustments to your life due to Kathleen's loss.
