Obituary of Diana Joan Harrison

Diana Joan Harrison of Fairfax VA and Naples FL died October 10, 2017 at the age of 84 at her home in Fairfax.

Born July 2, 1933  in Lockport NY, she was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Aylett Harrison and a granddaughter of Herbert Champion Harrison, inventor of the honeycomb automobile radiator and founder of Harrison Radiator Corp. of Lockport NY.  She is 

survived by her children from her marriage to the late Frederick Woodward Pfeiffer of Peoria IL- Suzanne (Ying) Wu of Bellingham WA, David (Sandra) Pfeiffer of London England, Letitia (Jeffrey) Mann of Evanston IL, Cynthia (Doug) Horner of Reston VA, as well as nine grandchildren and her sister Daphne Harrison Pfaff of Naples FL.

Ms. Harrison attended the Ogontz School for Girls in Jenkintown PA, Emma Willard School, Troy NY and Northwestern University, Evanston IL.  She was an active volunteer in many community organizations throughout her life, including the Red Cross, and the United Way.  She served as a President of Junior League of Peoria IL, Vice President of Junior League of Boston, and President of the Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association, Newburyport MA.  As a member of Trinity by the Cove Episcopal Church in Naples FL, she served on the vestry, was Program Director - Community Grants Commission and active in the Cove Antique Show fundraiser.  She was also a member of Grey Oaks Country Club of Naples FL and former member of the Country Club of Peoria.

During her professional career she was Manager of Employment and Training at Itek Optical Systems, (division of Litton) in Lexington MA,  Director of Human Resources at Materials Systems Inc., Littleton MA and finally as a private human resources consultant until retirement.

Guests are invided to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon with reception to follow.  For map and directions please select the Service Information tab on the left side of this page.
