Obituary of Keith Ferd Carl

Keith Ferd Carl (“KFC”) was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on August 4, 1945 to the late Fern Nichols and the late Ferd Carl. He died unexpectedly due to complications from gastric surgery on October 14, 2017. He was 72 years old.

Keith grew up in Maysville and Drumwright, Oklahoma. He attended Maysville High School and the University of Oklahoma. He was a drum major at OU and played the trombone in the marching band. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching movies. Keith loved sports and was an avid OU Sooner fan (Boomer Sooner). He lived in Huntington, New York for over 30 years before he moved to Ashburn, Virginia 10 years ago.

Keith had a smile that was contagious and a personality that could light up a room. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kent and Frank Carl (Kent, Frank, and Keith all passed away within the last two years). He is survived by his best friend and beloved wife, Lauren, his 3 children (Shannan/husband Nick, James/wife Jill, and Courtney/husband Mike), along with 6 grandchildren (Anthony, Nicholas, James, Jameson, Jacob, and Maggie), brother/sister in law Cary and Tina and numerous nephews and nieces. 

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 19 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA. with memorial gathering one hour prior.
