Obituary of Ioannis "John" N. Kapetanakis

Ioannis "John" Kapetanakis, 89, of Crete, Greece passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at The Adler Center for Caring in Chantilly, VA.

Born in Crete in 1928, he lived in Greece until 1955 when he moved to the United States. He returned to Greece in 1998 to be with his family there. He came back to the U.S. In 2014 to be with his children.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas Kapetanakis; his daughter, Stella Dumka; his daughter-in-law, Elaine Kapetanakis; his grandchildren, Natasha Dumka, Ryan Watson, Meagan Watson and his great-grandson, Killian.

Visitation is on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Services will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170. A luncheon will be held following the service with the location and address details given at that time.

John will be laid to rest at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 831 Dranesville Rd. Herndon, Virginia on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.
