Obituary of John Eric Smallwood

John Eric Smallwood passed into the arms of his Savior on Friday, December 15, 2017 in Sterling, Virginia at the age of 57.

John is survived by his son, Joshua Eric Smallwood of Virginia, the love of his life, Susan Marie Niedzwicki of Virginia, his sister, Donna Wood of Virginia, and his beloved granddog, Maggie Ewok Smallwood. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Norma Smallwood, and his older brother, John Edelbrock.

John was born on June 14, 1960 in Bridgeport, West Virginia. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in business. After spending time in West Palm Beach, Florida, he found his home in Sterling, Virginia where he worked in telecommunications. John was a client director for various companies, including AT&T, Telia, and Orange. Throughout John’s life, he enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, and most of all, golf. He treasured time spent with his family and friends.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 5pm – 7pm, at Adams-Green Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to follow in January.
