No idea how this came into my FB box but I’m grateful it did. I first met Mike - via the internet when I, in England - was looking around for nystagmus groups back in 1999. Yahoo didn’t exist then, I think we were with Topica. Mike was an admin of the American Nystagmus Network group, he then moved the group to yahoo eventually, where the group still is, but many of us moved - with Mike - to Facebook’s American Nystagmus Network. I’m a member of the UK’s Nystagmus group, Mike worked closely with our group to promote Nystagmus over the years. On his first trip to meet his daughter I travelled to London, its not far from my home, we met at their hotel and as we walked to the restaurant he’d chosen for lunch we compared our sight and mobility. We have the same acuity, but Mike being a driver was so much better over new territory than I, it was amazing, In the U.k, we are strict about driving, far far fewer of us ever get a licence. We’ve kept in touch supported each other on ANN all these years since. I will pass the news on to those in NN UK - once or twice we have sent a keynote speaker to the ANN conference. I’ve not seen it mentioned on the yahoogroup either. MIke, without you, ANN on and off the net wouldn’t be where it is today. We were also almost the same age, occasionally we’d refer to this too in reference to N. Condokences to Mike’s family and friends - nystagmus never got in his way, his career proved that, the image he portrayed as a mentor too, always one for adults to emulate, for young people to read, and learn the best way to grow holistically in the US lifestyle. To the Arm family, I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I know it is such a shock and know you will always have such great memories of him and a father and a husband. I have been working with Mike for so many years with the homeowner's association. He has always been so responsive and such a gentleman. I will miss my emails to him. He is actually one of the very few email addresses that I have memorized. May he rest peace. Sending hugs to everyone in your family

Mike will be very missed. He helped calm my parental fears with having a child with nystagmus. He was a great inspiration for anyone that has nystagmus. His wisdom will be very missed.

I am so sorry that Mike had to leave us so soon -- he was far too young. He was someone dear to our family -- and enjoyed good company with all of us whenever we were fortunate enough to gather from distant places -- for family events, whether happy or sad. So sorry he is now gone from the lives of Valerie and the girls -- and especially from the lives of those two sweet little boys he loved so much. Sending love, hugs, and prayers to all of you, and I'll be there for the final moments. I always loved being his "sister-in-law""
