Obituary of Elizabeth Barbara Eager

Elizabeth “Betty” Barbara Eager, 85, of Ashburn, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday January 27, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Born and raised in Livingston, NJ Betty spent many years in Brick Township, NJ before making Virginia her home.  Betty was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.

The quintessential hostess in any place she made her home, Betty was the first to greet guests at her door. She was full of compassion for all of her friends and family members, and always kept in touch with her loved ones through letters, phone calls and visits. Her care-giving extended into her affection for animals as she loved taking care of all family pets especially her birds and dogs.

Betty is the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth Eager.  She is preceded in death by her brother Edmund and his wife, Agnes.  She is survived by her sisters Eileen Eager and Kathleen Quinn (and husband Chuck) and by her brother William Eager and wife Carol.  Also surviving are her nieces and nephews Peggy, Bill, Amy, Kevin, Elizabeth, Sarah, Michael, Eamon, John, Ezekiel, Joshua, Peggy Liz, Eileen, Chuck, Eileen and Tim and by her grand nieces and nephews Sean, Megan, John Michael, Kyle, Abby, Sierra, Ashley, Katie, Ellie, Liam, Finn, Serefina, Annie, Lucy, Jack, Grace, Cole, Luke, Caitlin, Dean, Daniela, Caleb, Brett, Erin, Cooper, Jack, and Nathan.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 5 at St. John Neumann Church in Reston, Virginia.  There will be a viewing at 10:30 am followed by 11:30 Mass.  Interment will immediately follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon. Following the burial, all are welcome to join the family back at St. John Neumann for a reception in celebration of Betty’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Sisters of Charity Seton Center
