May you be comforted by God’s promise that “he will destroy death forever” (Isaiah 25:8). That the resurrection is real is demonstrated by Jesus at John 11:19-44 where he raised Lazarus to life after 4 days in the grave. This and other resurrection accounts show what Jehovah will do on a far grander scale in the paradise earth to come. The Bible’s promise of a resurrection does not eliminate the pain of losing a loved one. But picture the reunions as dear friends and relatives, once separated by death, hold one another again. I hope you are moved to learn more about the God who gives us this precious hope at jw.org.

Barbara and family,
I am so sad for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful person, who truly showed her beauty in the values she imparted to her children. I remember her visit to Virginia Tech. I served a cake I had made and she was so complimentary—I felt so special! I hope your memories and love for each other give you comfort in your sadness.
