Obituary of Joanne Franca

July 23, 1949-February 11, 2018

Joanne A. Franca (68) passed away in her home in Aldie, VA on Sunday, February 11. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bruce Franca; her two daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren: Jennifer, Rick, Dylan and Alex Armstrong, and Christine, Scott and Colton Meikle; and two sisters: Maryanne Halloran and Susan LaMonica.

Born in New York, Joanne was raised by, and in the loving home of, Maurice and Sarah (Ann) Guy. She had an unwavering love for her family. A devoted wife, exceptional mother, loving sister, caring daughter, remarkable aunt and phenomenal friend. Joanne made her mark on life in the most important way – on her family, friends and people she met along the way. She touched the lives of so many, showing unconditional love, support and generosity.

If you were not lucky enough to know her, you missed out on one exceptional lady. If you were blessed to have her in your life, you will forever be touched by the joy and love she undoubtedly brought to your life.  

Join us in saying goodbye and celebrating Joanne’s life. Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home (Herndon, VA) 3-6 PM Monday, February 19. Mass will be held at St. Joseph (Herndon, VA) 10 AM Tuesday, February 20.

Joanne was a foster child, lucky enough to be raised by the most loving and giving parents: Maurice and Sarah (Ann) Guy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The New York Foundling (https://www.nyfoundling.org/donate/one-time-donation/) so that other foster children may too find the loving families and resources that Joanne did.
