Obituary of Eileen P. Phillip

Eileen Patricia Phillip, 73, of Great Falls VA, passed away onThursday, March 8, 2018, at 10:30AM.

Born on Sept 10, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Cherry and the late Norma (Bailie) Cherry. 

She attended Boston College and was a graduate of Central Connecticut State College and served in the US Air Force from 1967 to 1971, achieving the rank of Captain.  That’s where she met her future husband Gene, also a Captain, who she married on March 13, 1971.  After a year in Chicago, they moved to Northern Virginia in 1972, where they both worked for, and retired from US Government Civil Service positions. They have lived in their Great Falls home since 1984, and were members of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.  Eileen enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her loving husband Eugene Phillip and brother Joseph Cherry, and niece Kimberly (Cherry) Jackson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday March 22, 2018 at St, Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Father Jerry J. Pokorsky officiating. Burial will follow at Arnon Chapel Cemetery in Great Falls.
