Obituary of Dolores Ann Clubb

Dolores Ann Clubb of Sterling, Va passed away on March 25, 2018 at 86 years old.  Loving family surrounded her during her time of peacefully passing.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Carroll and Alice Hill, her husband Robert Clubb in 1981, her son Raymond Clubb in 2003, and her sister Rita Tretick in 2010.

Born on January 3, 1932, Dolores was the eldest of five other siblings. Her three brothers are Richard Hill, Philip Hill, and Donald Hill. Her two sisters are Carole Stallman, and Rita Tretick (deceased).

Dolores grew up mostly in SW Washington D.C where she attended St. Dominic’s Catholic Church and School.  It was in the fifth grade that she’d met her husband, Robert Clubb.  After graduation, she began work at Catholic University.  In 1951, Dolores and Robert were married ten days before Robert was deployed to Korea with the U.S.M.C,  where he was wounded and sent back home to North Carolina.  After the honorable discharge from the Marines, Dolores and Robert began creating their wonderful family of seven children:  David, Nora, Susan, Linda, Raymond (deceased), John, and Sean.  The six surviving children are all married and regularly communicate with one another.

Dolores is also survived by seventeen Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Dolores spent her full life caring for and raising children which included her siblings.  After a long period of homemaking following her husband’s passing, Dolores entered the work force outside of the home.  She worked for the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing in Falls Church, Va for six years until she was needed back at home to care for her Mother, Alice.  At that time, Dolores began providing in-home daycare services for many wonderful children and thoroughly enjoyed doing it.  All of those daycare clients and their children appreciate her and think of her often to this day, as she had made big positive impacts in their lives.

Dolores was an elegant, smart, kind, loving, giving, and most of all a strong individual.  She fought to stay with all of us on this earth, but God has called her home. Dolores Ann Clubb will now rest in peace and will forever remain in our hearts and memories.

Family will receive guests, Thursday, April 5 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA.  Funeral will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 6 in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax.
