Verne was a fantastic neighbor - always a kind word, a warm greeting, and a funny comment. Will really miss our chats while collecting the mail and bringing the trash cans out on a regular basis. Remember a number of years ago that I got a new red ride-on lawnmower and Verne arrived home with a red corvette that same day. Tried to negotiate a trade - he laughed and made as usual a funny comment and I went back to cutting the grass with a smile on my face but no corvette. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. Guess that it falls to me now to collect the mail in my PJ bottoms in the morning.. Will do with pride and memory of Verne but will never live up to his style. Verne and family thanks for 22 years of being a super neighbors.

Dear Pat,
Words cannot express the sadness I feel at the loss of Verne. You know how much Norman loved him so we can both gain comfort in knowing they are enjoying a grand reunion.
