Obituary of Persephoni Nacos

Persephoni Nacos, 93, recently of Herndon, VA, passed away on June 5th 2018. 

Born in January 1925 in Greece, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Vasiliki Protogerou.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Constantine Nacos.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Evelyn, husband Bill and grandchildren Linus and Sophia.    In addition, she leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Persephoni grew up in Greece during the time of World War II and the Greek civil war.     She left for Canada in the 1950’s to join her sister Areti.    Subsequently she married and had a daughter.

Persephoni was a woman of many skills.   She wrote humorous poetry that was published in the Greek newspaper.    She was a talented seamstress who could make clothes, tablecloths, bed spreads and many other things around the house.     She was a fabulous cook of Greek food.    She was a strong believer in education and a person’s ability to do anything with a good education.

In her later years she lived with her daughter in Herndon where she enjoyed early morning walks and playing with her grandchildren.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Inova Children's Hospital in Fairfax County.
