I am deeply saddened by the loss of your dear one. I didn't know Dennis personally but I am a Mother and I know we are never prepared for such a loss and enormous suffering. We need to look for comfort in our Creator and Heavenly Father whom the Bible calls the God of all comfort and the Father of tender mercies (2 Corinthians 1:3). May He bring your comfort until he fulfills his promise of ridding the Earth of all wickedness and bring our loved ones who have died, back to life in the resurrection on a paradise Earth (Acts 24:15).
