I had the privilege of working with Steve at Qwest/CenturyLink. He was an amazing man, who always encouraged others. Him and I would share scouting stories, me with Girl Scouts and him wth Boy Scouts. He never saw a gray cloud, always a silver lining. I truly miss working with him, his laughter and the joy he brought, by just being there.

Steve was one of my older cousins on the Hagan side of the family. I remember visiting at Aunt Bernadine and Uncle Renzie's house. We would venture into Steve's room looking at all the things that teenagers accumulate, albums, stereo, and stuff like that. He had models of many airplanes hanging from the ceiling in his room, positioned like they were in a dog fight. I remember playing with Steve's well worn Army men and Cowboys/Indian sets. He had lots of good stuff like that.
When we were growing up, I ended up with a lot of Steve's hand me down clothes. I didn't know it at the time, but I was probably a little out of date with some of the bell bottom pants and wide collar shirts.
Steve was one of the first cousins I remember to join the military. When Steve received his commission with the USAF, it was a big deal, and still is, to have an Officer in in the family. Steve's dedication to the Military and to our country inspired me to join the service.
When Steve came back home for visits with family in Louisville, it was like a war hero had returned. He told us stories about his life in the military. I remember he told us about when he was in a survival training exercise and had to eat rattlesnake out in the desert. He said it tasted like chicken.
Steve had a huge smile and was larger than life,
RIP Steve

RIP Steve. You were my "treaty" mentor starting at OSIA in 1991, then with OSD thru 2002. You would be glad to know that I am still in the treaty business at Air Force global Strike Command.

We were so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. We have known him since our early days in the Airforce. Our son was in Jeremy’s wedding and I was one of the first people to hold Joe after he was born. Spent many happy hours with him, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
