Mr. Brasek was quite a character! His youngest son and I used to steal his cigars and smoke them as a traditional end to summer every year. I suspect he knew all along. He raised a wonderful family.
I'm so sorry to hear of Don's passing and pray for all of his family and friends during this difficult time. I worked with Don at GSA for many years and always enjoyed his funny sense of humor. Don kept us laughing and made some of the most boring meetings so much easier to endure if you were sitting next to him. Don would find a bright side in any difficult situation and some humor for any sad situation. I have many wonderful memories of our days at SOC-A and Willowoods. I know you all do as well, please hold these fun packed memories in your mind whenever you feel sad for your loss.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Benton and I worked with Don at GSA from around 2003 until he retired. He was such a great colleague to work with. He was sooo smart and a wealth of knowledge. I may not have always gotten his humor, but welcomed to hear what he had for all of us daily. He always invited us if we wanted to go down stairs in Crystal City to go get Fried Lice aka Fried rice for lunch. He shared and talked about his family and showed pictures of his grandchildren. We have missed him at GSA in what used to be our little team of seven. My condolences to the whole Brasek Family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was very saddened to read of the passing of your husband and father.
I worked with Mr. Brasek for 7 or so years in the GSA Crystal City office. He was a very smart and intelligent person, who had a keen sense of humor; he always had something funny to add to a conversation. I am happy to have had the opportunity to know, and work with, him.
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
I am beyond devastated by my Godfather's passing. I loved him so much and have not cried since my father's death. The times that I spent at your home in the Jersey Pine Barens were some of the best times of my childhood. I loved his wit and dry humor and sarcasm. I wish that I could be there to say goodbye but money and paid time off are scarce right now . I love you all so much. Tell him that I love him please. Thank you.
