Obituary of Sally Joanne Harp

Sally Joanne Harp of Sterling, VA was born in Pinehurst, NC January 18, 1960 and died on August 22, 2018.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on August 30, 2018 at Church of Epiphany.  Visitation will be prior to the service at 6:00 PM. Burial will be held at Quantico Cemetery at 10:00 AM on August 31, 2018. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Adams-Green Funeral Home.

Joanne had an Associate’s Degree in Psychology, was an Administrative Assistant and also a substitute teacher.  She was very active within the Church and was a volunteer vacation bible school director for five years. She loved working with children and started a Card Ministry within the church which she was very passionate about.  She loved the tradition of sending greeting cards in the mail and bringing joy and comfort to the recipients.

Joanne married Ronald Harp Jr. in September 1998 and they were married for almost 19 years before his death in 2016. Ron and Joanne loved each other very much and in Joanne’s words, “they were never good apart.” Now they are reunited and in the arms of Jesus.

Joanne is survived by her mother, Barbara Hinson, older brother, Roy Hinson, her sister Bobbie and husband Bill Prate, and her youngest brother Charles.  She is survived by her nephews Zeb Hinson, William Prate and wife Shannon, her nieces Lily Hinson and Jenda Harp. She is also survived by Sabrina Ames who Ron and Joanne considered family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Church of the Epiphany Anglican in her honor. The family of Joanne wishes to thank the Church of Epiphany Anglican, Adams-Green Funeral home and friends of Joanne for their support.
