Obituary of Lisa Ann Davenport

Lisa Ann Davenport, 48, of Herndon, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 6^th, 2018, at 1:06 PM after suffering a sudden stroke a week prior. 

Born on June 30, 1969 in Prince Georges County, MD, she was the adopted daughter of the late Patricia Shumate, of Ghent, WV, and the late William Doleman, of Washington, D.C. 

Lisa was raised in Lanham, MD and moved to Fairfax City, VA in her teens where she showed her spunk by surviving Glioblastoma.  Graduating from Fairfax High School/Pimmit Hills Alternative School, Lisa attended NOVA-Annandale before becoming a Special Education Instructional Assistant for the Fairfax County Public School system for 11 years.  She met her husband in a Spinning Class in 2001, married in 2003, and gave birth to her son in 2005. She was the Secretary and for two years in a row the President of the Mom’s Club of Reston, and Room Mother, “Box Tops Lady,” and with her husband, the “Cake Walk People” for multiple years at Armstrong Elementary School in Reston, VA.  Lisa had just begun preparing to return to the school system as an Instructional Assistant when she was taken from us too soon.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Andrew Davenport, 53, and son, Logan Andrew Davenport, 13, both of Herndon, VA.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12^th, 2018 at Adams Green Funeral Home.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Ashworth Family Cemetery in Ghent, West “By God” Virginia, on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10 AM.  Her Uncle, Sherman Shumate Jr. will be officiating.
