Frank was in my homeroom for 3 years at Miami Hi and he was always warm
and friendly to me.
Whenever I thought about those years, Frank's name always popped up in my
mind with a fondness. I always knew Frank de la Fe would accomplish good
things in life and was saddened to read of his passing
But it was heartening to read of his life... WELL LIVED.
Warmest regards,
Freddy Bernard

I was so sorry to learn of Frank’s passing. We were really good friends at Miami High and I corresponded with him at Bowdoin while I went to University of Florida. I had always wondered where he was and what he was doing because I knew he would leave a legacy. I always felt honored to call him a friend!

I was fortunate to work with Frank from 2002 through 2005 through the sometimes contentious negotiations over the rezoning of the Launders Farm property and the proffer for Arrowbrook Centre Park. Frank was always gracious, calm and considerate while he gently nudged us toward the final outcome which today is Arrowbrook Centre Park. He had a large hand in creating what is today an exemplary recreational resource in Herndon. On behalf of all of my fellow Launders Trustees, we extend our sincere condolences to his family. - Jeff Fairfield

I had the good fortune to be appointed Director of the Fairfax County Park Authority and serve under Chairman Frank de la Fe. His leadership, wisdom, skill in working with staff, no-nonsense attitude, and wry humor changed the strategic direction of the organization and racked up a series of accomplishments that continue to benefit the outstanding park system enjoyed by Fairfax County residents.

I met Frank when he was the planning commissioner for the Hunter Mill District. Everytime I'd come to a meeting where Frank was he'd say "uh oh there must be traffic issues...here she comes." He always made me laugh and was a pleasure to work with. We've lost so many of the good ones over the years...Mr. Lawrence and now Frank...sighs...Frank - you will be sorely missed.
