Obituary of Sov Ram

Sov Ram, 86 passed away on September 25, 2018 in Leesburg VA. She was born on February 7th, 1932 in Swai Jake, Cambodia to Hoeun Ram and Ip Deng. She was one of three daughters. She is  survived by her husband of 72 years Lohn Van and her three daughters. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In Cambodia she lived and worked on a farm. She was a very hard worker. Her and her family first arrived to Virginia in the winter of 1979. She had a hard life starting out in the USA. They arrived bare footed with just the clothes on their back’s to almost knee deep of snow. All 5 of them had to share a one bedroom apartment and had to figure out how to adjust to life in America with little to no guidance. Later, she moved to Lexington, North Carolina, where she spent a majority of her life, to have a better life for her grandchildren.

She worked in a furniture factory assembling and polishing furniture. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and she loved watching Thai dramas and taking care of her grandbabies. She was loving, caring, and a great person. She always put everyone else before herself. She had a big heart and was very generous, always wanted to lend a helping hand whenever she could. She would do anything and everything for her family. She always made sure that her kids had enough food and scarified anything she had for them.

During her last days she was surrounded by her loved ones. She wanted everyone to know she loved them. She wanted everyone to be safe, happy and healthy. She wanted people to come together and love each other.

She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
