I was on Cavalla before John but I served with him on COMSUBPAC staff. He signed a picture of Cavalla for my retirement ant it hangs with pride in our living room. Ship your oars, Skipper, we have the watch.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of John - as work colleague, caring leader, and Everquest enthusiast. He always brought a bright spot to my days in Florida and at NAWCTSD and in Norrath.

Terry and I are so very sorry to hear of the passing of John. Please accept our sincerest condolences. ...I know that he loved you, Ken, and Kimberly so very much. I am so glad that I got to know and work with John, and I can tell you that we all will miss him. He was a wonderful person who I often came to for advice and opinion. We all truly valued his knowledge, professionalism, and his friendship. We may have teased each other once in a while about “Aviator” vs “Submariner,” but I always had the deepest respect and admiration for John as I knew how hard it was to have the great, successful career in the Navy that he had. All that, and a wonderful Wife and Family too!
He was a great, great Shipmate and we all will truly miss him.

Barbara,
Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. We were all profoundly saddened by the news of John's passing. He was a good man -- a good officer, a good colleague, and good friend. I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him twice, both before I retired from the Navy and after I came back to work for the government. His mentorship was truly a blessing. We will all miss him tremendously.
With much aloha,
Tim

So sorry to hear about this. John was always a great person to work with. I remember the tour he gave me in Hawaii where he was obviously very knowledgeable about the trainers there. Working with him back in Orlando, he was one of those people that could rescue a program in trouble and one you just knew would get the job done. A very nice person as well.

I had the pleasure of working with John for quite a few years. He was always dedicated to the best interests of the Navy and the best interests of the country. He and I conferred on many occasions to discuss the "righting" of many "wrongs" and to discuss options for improvement in many areas. John was always the consumate professional and approached every challenge with calm pragmatism.
I'm very saddened to hear of his passing but know that he was surrounded by a loving family and departed this world with dignity.
John was an exceptional shipmate and a very, very valued colleague.
Godspeed John.

Barbara, I am so sorry to hear of your lost. John will be forever remembered. First time we met was Disney working the Disney relay. Then we had lunch at Cracker Barrell and had a wonderful get to know each other. And then Kim started work at NAWC and got to work with me. And of course the times we met for lunch. Just remember you have all those wonderful memories of John and know he has no more pain. May God bless you and the family at this time.
