Dan was a great friend and coworker, I met him when I started out in costco in 2015 and he was always a great help, he taught me so much about the job and was a fantastic friend. Talking about comics or games and even when he beat me at said games he was always a blast to hang out with. When we all found out Dan's diagnosis the small gas station crew here felt broken but Dan's strength was amazing. We coined the term "Dan Power" and have had it written on our board ever since. No matter how many times we erase the board and clean it we always end up putting that small phrase in the top left corner. We also had a phrase that was always written it said "Be good to each other" Dan would always cross out the good and wright excellent instead "Be Excellent to each other". He was an excellent friend, mentor and all around amazing person to have known. He was part of our costco family and we all miss him.

My deepest condolences go out to Dan’s amazing family and wife Heather. I know everyone is hurting right now and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. It is so difficult to say goodbye to someone like Dan. He was one of my best friends through my high school years and for many years after. Dan was a deer friend and helped me become the person I am today. When I first met Dan, I didn’t know that I was meeting a lifelong friend. A friend who would always look out for you and know how to make you laugh. And boy did we laugh. Dan’s sense of humor was unmatched. He could effortlesly make me laugh at even the hardest times. Even though he was a jokester, he was also compassionate and very understanding. I will always admire your sense of humor, your strength and determination to fight for life and love. You will be missed Iron Dan, but never forgotten.

Ironman Dan, I wish I could have met you. If I were to draw a picture of someone who was a perfect match for Heather, it would be you. You two share the same light, smile, everything. Disney Soulmates. Cinderella and Prince Charming...Ariel and Prince Eric...all of those tales. You are also DC/Marvel with your strength and courage. You will be greatly, greatly missed by your adoring family...and others like me who only knew you on FB...will always remember you as that cool guy...who never gave up, was a true soldier and an epic example of valor. I did not have the pleasure of meeting “Iron Dan”, but my heartfelt condolences to your family. There are no words to ease your pain. Heather you’re a wonderful person and I know Dan loved you with all his being and you loved him in return. Cherish every memory and know that he will always be with you all as your guardian angel. Dan always, always had a smile on his face. Thru discomfort and pain, he maintained a positivity that came across in every picture. He crammed a lot of good living and love into the time he had left, especially his true marriage with Heather. I was and remain so impressed by how this young man endured and by the grace of a family that rallied around him in ways so few are fortunate to experience. I’m so very sorry Dan’s young life was cut short, but I know his amazing spirit will live on. Much love, prayers, and hugs. Trish & Harry Russell

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. Thank you Eileen and Bruce for having and raising such a wonderful human being, thank you to his sisters Jessica, Lisa and Teri who undoubtedly helped shape him into the sweet and sensitive man he was, and thank you to Heather for making him the husband he always wanted to be. I'm so grateful to have known Dan and so lucky to have had him as my friend. We shared so many fun times. Today I'm also remembering the not so fun times. He was there for me during my parent's divorce, and helped my mother and I move when we had no money for movers. He visited me after I was in a terrible car accident and brought my family dinner. He spent hours with me on the phone when I was pregnant and going through my own divorce, making inappropriate jokes that ONLY HE could make, which raised my spirits and made me laugh. I will miss him so very much.
