Obituary of William David Simpson

William David Simpson of Great Falls Virginia, aged 85, passed away on November 8 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington DC.

He was born in Los Angeles California and lived the majority of his life in the Echo Park and Larchmont areas surrounded by loving family and friends.David was a committed Christian and a long time member of Hollywood Presbyterian Church. He was well recognized there and in his neighborhoods for his voluntary contributions and his friendly and kind demeanor. 

He attended LaVerne College and excelled in theatre productions and as a football quarterback. A highlight of his life was his service in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958 as an engineer and chaplains assistant. He earned the distinguished parachutist badge (wings) with the 82nd Airborne Division. An accomplishment he was both humbled by, and proud of. 

David was a devoted son and brother and a partner of over 30 years to his beloved Maggie (who preceded him in death) with whom he shared a love of music, history, classic movies, and nature - especially the oceanside. He will be deeply missed by those family and friends he leaves behind in Virginia, California, Canada, England and India. 

Those who knew and loved William David Simpson will be forever grateful for the gentleman he was, and the caring and kindness he shared.
