Obituary of David Lee Russell

David Lee Russell, age 71 and a longtime resident of Herndon, Virginia departed this life on November 17, 2018 for parts unknown.  He was the son of William Otis Russell and Marion Clark Russell of Tampa Florida.  David left behind two wonderful sons, Sean Russell and Benjamin Russell, a daughter of the heart Erin Russell, two amazing granddaughters and his beloved wife Jo.

David retired as a project manager and software developer.  He was a Navy veteran. He was on the advisory board for The Academy of Christian Education, supporting children’s education.  He was an avid geocacher and Pokemon player.

He was a quiet and humble man with a quick smile and a willingness to help anyone in need.  He will be greatly missed, but his memory will linger as we remember the love and service he left behind, and his love for children.  In lieu of flowers, please continue his work at the Academy of Christian Education, Reston, VA through a financial gift to the Academy.
