Dear Anne and Elizabeth: What a lovely tribute, filled with the kinds of details and wit that bring tears, and a bit of laughter. You both reflect the best of your mother -- her wonderful, dry humor, her graciousness, her intelligence, her artistic sensibility, her fierce devotion. Her love of small luxuries that made life ever so much more pleasant. Did I say her humor? It is the thing that I know helps sustain both of you, alongside friends and family who love you both so much. I am so, so sorry that she is gone. It's too early, and these days, 74 seems far, far too young. This has been such a period of intense loss with both your mother and Russell. I am, however, so, so grateful that both you and David Schulman were able to be with her when she died, and that she died so peacefully. I know that I'll get a chance to see Anne and David before too long a time passes, but Elizabeth, I am sending you big, big hugs, knowing that this weekend is the anniversary of Russell's death.
