Bud, We have been friends since our days in school I will miss our telephone calls. It was a real pleasure to have your son & his wife plus their son 2 years ago last Fall, they came up for the chain saw event. Bud and I had a great time just walking the streets of Ridgway (but we never saw one person we knew). We then took off in my car riding around the whole town, once again we did not find any people we knew. There was a day when we knew the entire town and the people all knew us.
Time does keep marching on. We sat a few minutes in front of where the Hyde Hotel once stood, I kept telling Bud (he should have taken Hotel Mgt) and come back and ran the place, he said he wanted nothing to do with the place, it certainly was a beautiful, majestic place. Well Bud until we meet again, I hope that you are enjoying playing football,
Both Jane and I will miss you Bob Hoare.

Simply one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever had. So fortunate to come across him at Fairfax High in 1988. Truly made an impact and Mr. Wood is still today the reason why I spend time every so often teaching myself. I’m very sorry for your loss.

I was so sorry to learn of Bud's passing..I taught with Bud from 1965-1970 and they were some of the best years of my career..He was such a grand member of our department and w were all lucky to have taught when him over those years.Please know that I keep you in my thoughts ad prayers.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of such a wonderful friend and colleague. I have many fond memories of Bud and the old Fairfax High School.(We were in the Social Studies Department together.) Bud was an excellent teacher and coach and touched the lives of countless students over the years. He will be dearly missed by all those of us who knew and loved him. May he RIP. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends. I knew Bud as "Sharon's dad" and we were kindred Steelers fanatics though we never met face-to-face. His influence was clearly present when the Steelers won their final game of the season in the 4th quarter.
A true testament of a life well-lived is the character of your children. It is evident that his was because his daughter is kind, loyal and a beautiful soul. In his coaching, Bud built character in others children as well. He will be missed.

We are saddened to learn of Uncle Bud’s passing. He was truly the Uncle everyone wished they had, as their own. He was great brother to my Mom, who thought the world of him and always said “He is a good egg” . Uncle Bud was always upbeat and jovial and we have great memories of the fun and activities we shared: Fireworks he always had when he visited us, Water pistols he provided us at his own wedding, his taking the time to escort us thru the DC museums, to the Lionel Train set ups he provided, the time we spent making army figures from melted lead and the elevator rescue at the Hyde Hotel, when John and I got the elevator stuck. He will be missed but will always be in our memories.
