Obituary of Michael Steven Farrar

Michael Steven Farrar, age 44, of Sterling, VA, died on December 13, 2010. He was born on February 28, 1966, in Germany. Michael worked at HHMI (Howard Hughes Medical Institute) as Principal Software Engineer. Michael was the beloved husband of 9 years of Annelee Aveling Farrar, loving and devoted father of Lucas Aveling, Amanda Aveling and Emilia Farrar; son of William Farrar of Pocahontas, AR, and the late Ursula Himstedt Farrar; brother of William Farrar of Merkel, TX, Johnny Farrar of San Antonio, TX, David Farrar of Boone, NC, Stacey Longmire of Ninety Six, SC, and Stephanie West of Nolanville, TX. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 19 th at 2:00pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 (https://www.tg.stjude.org). We would like to let everyone know that the family will have a basket available at the memorial service for anyone who would like to write a letter to Michael. The letters will be private and placed with Michael. Also, during the memorial service the family wishes to have a Time for Remembrances. Anyone who would like to get up and tell a story or give their favorite memory of Michael is encouraged to do so. (Humorous memories are very welcome.)
