Obituary of Marie-catherine Fortunato

Marie-Catherine (Cathy) Michele Fortunato, age 46, formerly of Sterling, VA, a customer service representative for United Airlines, died September 6, 2008 of cancer at INOVA Loudoun Hospital. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam and was adopted by great parents in France, Dimitry and Yvonne Fortunato. Cathy spoke three languages and had a deep affection for people and animals alike. While working at a critical care center in Germany, she met her soon to be husband, Ronald Lee Dubois. Cathy and Ron were married for 22 years. She attended Salisbury University and the University of Maryland, where she completed her Bachelors of Arts degree. She worked for Hertz for a few years before working at United Airlines. She enjoyed her job greatly but enjoyed the employees more. She also enjoyed many of the customers also. She met Richard Simmons, the health guy. He called her "My little Lotus flower." While employed at United Airline, she had a little girl, Tia, in 1997. Tia is and will always be the biggest love of her life. Cathy was the greatest mom in the world. Survivors include her daughter Tia Fortunato Dubois and husband Ronald Dubois of Herndon, VA, father and mother Dimitry and Yvonne Fortunato of St. Melaine, France and sister, Michele (Mimi) Fortunato of Ancenis, France. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 9 th from 10am to 12 noon and from 6pm to 8pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10 th at 2pm. Interment will be private.
