Sorry to see that Den has past away. Den and I meet when we were 2 years old as we were both born in January . Our fathers were both in construction and lived next to each other. We went to elementary through high school . We lost track of each other when Den left El Paso. He was a great athlete, loved baseball and we had many great first together. Rest in peace my friend.

It is amazing to us that it's been over a year. It is so hard to realize that he is gone.

Amazingly a year has gone by. This is an excerpt from the eulogy I gave at his service ...
Now that we know your mental anguish and how it needed to cease,we know your troubled mind has finally found its peace.
And in turn we will remember the good times, and how we laughed, with jokes and songs and cheer and wine, and to that we raise a glass.
And we send you on your journey with the love that we all share, because you are one of God's children and you will be in his loving care.

It is with a heavy heart that I send my condolences to the Foster family. I first met Dennis our freshman year in college, and in our senior year we were roommates. Dennis was smart, athletic, and charming in a manner that was so humble, and unassuming. I will always love the memories of our friendship, and I miss him.

Dennis was a great friend, a wonderful business colleague, and a very generous human being. We shared many interests, but mostly, we shared a passion for golf. And it was during those times together that I had my fondest memories of Dennis. The few good rounds, the many bad rounds, and in particular, the expletives from Dennis after a bad shot. But good, bad, or indifferent, we were together, and that's all that mattered. We will all miss you Dennis, but rest assured, the many wonderful memories of you will live on.

Dennis was a wonderful person and an excellent leader at Marriott. He truly cared about people and it showed. Dennis always treated everyone with respect and consideration. He had a wonderful personality and didn't sweat the small stuff. Dennis was not just a co-worker but a friend to many and he will truly be missed. My sympathies and prayers go out to his family during this very sad time. God Bless you, Cheryl Hayes

Dennis will be sorely missed and will never be forgotten. Dennis was always there to lend a helping hand, to advice and to support. He had a great sense of humor and connected with all professionally and personally. He exuded confidence and could always see the light at the end of the tunnel. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends. God bless you all and Dennis – Rest In Peace.

I am so sad to hear of Dennis' passing. Dennis was my best friend for many years when we lived in El Paso and worked together at El Paso Natural Gas Company; and also after we both moved to Northern Va. and worked for Boeing. I will remember him for the many good times we shared, and for his great intellegence, common sense, and warm heart.

To Claudia and the entire Foster family. I worked for Dennis for several years at Sallie Mae, and was fortunate enough to be able to continue to cross paths during his time at Marriott. I will always remember Dennis for his quick smile, sense of humor, kindness, and absolute love for golf. He will be missed, and never forgotten. My deepest sympathies go out to you.

I had the good fortune to not only work with Dennis for most of my years at Marriott, but also work directly for him 3 of the last 4 years. Dennis was a knowledgeable, supportive and caring leader. I really respected him for the how much he knew about so many technologies, as well as his commitment to excel at everything he attempted. He demonstrated great passion for his work and in his support of his team, which I truly appreciated. I saw a different side of him, but the same passion, when I remember how ecstatic he was when his granddaughter was born. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this very difficult time.

As George Hall put so eloquently, Dennis was one of a kind. Of course I knew Dennis from working with him for so many years at Marriott. But, we too shared many rounds of golf over the years (many times with George). Dennis what passionate about what he did professionally and just as passionate about his out-of-work interests and his family. He was the kind of associate and friend that I always appreciated having in my corner when the going was tough. Both Sue and I send deepest sympathies to the family, who we know will now have an incredible void in their lives without you. But, we also know that you will be in their heart forever. As for me Dennis, you have left us far too soon. You will be sorely missed my friend.

Dennis had a way of inspiring those who worked for him. He made you feel you were working on something Big -- Bigger than you, Bigger than him, Bigger than any single person's interests or ideas. If your undertaking was difficult, well, that was why no one had done it before. He made me laugh at myself when I took myself too seriously. He was a kind, smart, hard-driving gentleman. I will always be grateful for the precious years I worked for him. I will miss Dennis, but his guidance and inspiration remains with me so that perhaps I can too pass it on.

In my role with Intel, I have worked and supported Marriott since 1999 and have gotten to know Dennis Foster as a customer, client, colleague, and friend. I respected Dennis' leadership within Marriott and appreciated the mutual respect that he shared with me. I also enjoyed the many executive functions (and golf) that Dennis was able to participate in. He will be truly missed. Prayers and condolences to the Foster family.

I worked with Dennis during my time with Sallie Mae back in the 90s. Dennis always had a calm and deliberate demeanor...which wasn't a usual mangement situation given all the fires that needed to be put out daily in IT. His staff really respected his ability to keep everything in perspective...that, and his incredibly dry sense of humor. He will be missed.
